Properties: Light yellow powder with light bitter taste. Specific density is 1.65--1.72. Hardly soluble in acetone, benzene, ethanol, and carbon tetrachloride. Insoluble in water, gasoline. Decomposed in strong acid and alkali.

Usage:

In latex vulcanization ZMBT is used in combination with ZBEC, ZDMC and ZDEC. ZMBT does not destabilize latex formulations. In latex thread applications the low free MBT grade of ZMBT provide reduced extraction of MBT during acid coagulation (acid bath pollution) and helps to stabilize the viscosity of latex compounds during storage. In dry rubber applications the performance of ZMBT is almost similar to MBT, but with a slight scorch improvement.

Storage:

Store ZMBT in a cool, dry, well ventilated area, avoiding exposure of the packaged products to direct sunlight. Usually the shelf time is 24 months while the recommend use of date is in 12 months.
